Knowledge Management Framework for Effective Disaster Management focuses on developing a framework to enhance the capability of the human resource deployed via various relevant organizations. It covers planning of key areas in disaster management, including; disaster transportation management, humanitarian response management, crowd estimation, temporal sheltering, etc. It promotes a proactive approach towards disaster management by reviewing historical disasters and analyzing current scenarios in order to partially predict and act proactively, where possible. Modules of the proposed Knowledge Management framework are being implemented in many countries prone to disaster as we speak and it is believed that further research in this area may lead to saving thousands of innocent lives. Knowledge Management Framework for Disaster Management Capability Development is therefore a very positive step towards ensuring a safe future.
