Research on using Web-GIS for Modeling of Infrastructure Interdependency, based on Ph.D. Research at York University, Toronto. Summarized a unique world-class approach that was integrated using GIS modeling capabilities. The core of the book has been awarded ERSI Best Scientific Paper, 2nd Place, a world-class award by the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, 2008. This work has received NSERC Canada and Public Safety Canada grant in a very competitive process.

Professor Rifaat Abdalla received his Ph.D. degree from York University, Canada; MASc from the University of Regina, Canada. His experience is in diverse professional, research and teaching environments; including DRDC Government of Canada research arm in National Defence and York University,King Abdulaziz University, and Sultan Qaboos University.
