A good face is a letter of recommendation. As Frush observes A smile can be attractive, a prime asset to a persons appearance, and it can be a powerful factor in the ego and desirable life experiences of a human being. Smiles are evidenced as early as 3000 BC. In early works of art smile was mainly labial in nature. The dentolabial smile, where the teeth are seen behind the lips, started to emerge in the early 20th century. Scholars and mathematicians have come up with principles, mathematical equations in their quest to achieve methods by which beauty could be quantified and predictably reproduced by artisans and artists. In modern times these principles have been scrutinized and conglomerated to form what we know as ESTHETIC PRINCIPLES. This book provides a thorough understanding of all the Esthetic Principles that are to implemented while providing an esthetic treatment and thus enhancing the smile of an individual.

Dr. Sudhanshu Srivastava completed his B.D.S from K.L.E University, Belgaum (KARNATAKA) in the year 2012 after which he completed his Masters in the department of Prosthodontics. He is now working as assistant professor in Saraswati Dental College (Lucknow). He has a keen interest in research and has a number of publications to his credit.
