It is imperative that clinicians have a strong working understanding of masticatory system dynamics. Differential diagnosis through the screening of muscles, joints, and dental occlusion will clarify the presence of signs and symptoms of dysfunction. There are different types of occlusal appliances, each one has its special design, indication and precautions that should be followed so that clinician strongly advised to thoroughly understand the masticatory system dynamics and perform a comprehensive examination to the TMJ and its related structures to be able to choose correct perfectly with fewer complication.
