Beschreibung
Molar distalization is a technique of gaining space for tooth movement during orthodontic treatment. This recent development in orthodontic mechanotherapy have reduced the need for extraction in several types of malocclusions. The purpose of this review was to enable the clinician to know the indications and contra-indications of distalization and to have a comprehensive view of few recent molar distalization appliances.

Dr. Rinju E. John studied Bachelor of Dental surgery (BDS) at Dr. M.G.R. Medical university in 2012. She completed her Masters degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (MDS) from Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, Bhubaneswar in 2018. She is also a member of Indian Dental Association and Indian Orthodontic Society.
