Almost all of us have used Laser in some form or the other. The bar code reader in the shopping mall, the CD player, the 'Laser pointer' used at lectures are some examples of encountering lasers in ones day to day lives. When used effectively and ethically, lasers are an exceptional modality of treatment for many clinical conditions that dentists treat on a daily basis. From operative dentistry to periodontics, paediatrics and prosthetics to cosmetics and implantology, lasers have made a tremendous impact on the delivery of dental care in present times and will continue to do so as the technology continues to improve and evolve. This book illustrates the basics of laser science, tissue effects of dental lasers, various dental lasers wavelengths, different methods of application of laser technology for treatment of fixed and removable prosthesis, implantology, maxillofacial rehabilitation and safety measures to provide effective treatment to the patient.

Dr Shivani Tyagi completed her BDS from IDST college, Gaziabad (U.P.). She did her post graduation in prosthodontics from KDCRC, Moradabad (U.P.). She received gold medal for her academic excellence in post graduate studies from MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. She has authored/ co-authored many scientific publications.
