This book reviews the history of 3D imaging in orthodontics. Nothing in radiology for our dental practice has captured dentists attention as quickly as CBCT technology. The advent of CBCT have revolutionized the field of dentistry and thus increased diagnosis accuracy than 2D imaging, but 2D imaging cant be replaced with other measures that has remained our golden standard till 19th century. It also highlights the current concepts of new imaging technology, their working principle, advantages and disadvantages of different imaging system, American Board Orthodontics guidelines and recommendations of CBCT, dosimetry and has described its wide application in orthodontics.

Shabir Rafiq is a post graduate student at Divya Jyoti Dental college, under the guidance of DR Reena R Kumar principal and head of department of Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. He is graduated in the year 2015 from Thai Moogambigai dental college and Hospital chennai. He is member of Indian Orthodontic Society.
