With more number of adults seeking orthodontic treatment, it becomes imperative to widen the spectrum of orthodontics which was earlier confined to a younger age group.Orthodontics in adults encompasses a wide array of applications ranging from optimum function to aesthetics.It also becomes important to understand the application of conventional treatment concepts in adults as adult physiology is different from an adoloscent. Usage of new treatment concepts along with an integrated approach to adult orthodontic problems also needs to be emphasized.Keeping the above facts in light, this book provides an understanding of concept of orthodontics in adults based on diagnosis, treatment planning, application of interdisciplinary approach.
