It is a well known fact that in order to understand a subject in its present status one should be well equipped with the knowledge of its past. Orthodontics has evolved as art as well as science since past century and the present day Orthodontics is due to contributions of many people who have contributed to this subject in one way or the other. This books presents a brief compilation of the events that have happened in the past and ultimately led to the development of present day science of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics.

The author is a passed out post graduate in the speciality of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics from Government Dental College and Hospital Srinagar, J&K, India. Author is specially inclined towards Evidence Based Orthodontics and has several National publications to her credit.
