Mucuna is a genus which has numerous species of climbing lianas (vines) and shrubs of the family Fabaceae, tribe Phaseoleae and is generally located in the tropical forests. This book reviews the utilization of biochemical and molecular genetic approaches for studying the genetic variation and phylogenetic relationships of Mucuna germplasm in order to provide developed strategies for plant improvement. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed El-Esawi is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge in the UK and Associate Professor of Molecular Genetics at Tanta University, Egypt. He received his Ph.D. degree from Technological University Dublin, Ireland. He joined various European universities as a Research Fellow and authored several articles and books.
