This book serve as a toolkit for all those who need a highlight regarding journal production and publication taking Kano state as a case study to showcase how are journal managed and distributed for communication and dissemination of new ideas in academics own field of endeavor. It is of immense importance to note that, through journal, researchers and academics access important information about recent developments in their field. Academic journals are also used to asses the productivity and contributions of academics and practitioners. Publishing in academic journal therefore is an important activity for those scholars who wish to publish and communicate ideas and the result of their research. This book is a report of a study on the Management of Academic Journals as Tools for Information Dissemination in Institutions of Higher Learning in Kano State. The study basically examined the aims of academic journals that exists in institutions of higher learning in Kano state. The study also aimed at determining how academic journals are produced, priced and distributed in the institutions studied as well as to identify the challenges associated with the operational procedures.

Ahmed Mohammed holds NCE; BA (LS); MLS and Ph.D in Library and Information Science. Currently lecturer at Bayero University, Kano-Nigeria.
