Clinically established implants are usually off-the-shelf products. Complex clinical pictures may however require a patient-specific solution for treatment. Medical-technological progress, especially in the field of medical imaging as well as emerging production technologies have recently enabled the realisation of such custom-made solutions. These patient individualised devices however remain directly related to time intensive manual labour and high costs. The aim of this thesis is to develop a design methodology for patient individualised warp knitted implants based on the patient's specific medical imaging data set. Jacquard double-face Raschel warp knitting offers an extremely versatile production technology including many degrees of freedom in its creation. The virtual product design enables the rapid configuration of a new product according to the geometry derived from the medical image data. A 7step approach is developed and implemented resulting in a customisable applicationspecific product base. The selected approach presented here is developed and evaluated in the set up of a process chain for patient individualised fenestrated stent grafts to treat complex abdominal aortic aneurysms. A process to transfer sizing information gained from the acquired patientspecific medical image data towards a textile machine code is established. A product model is developed for this purpose including both the product geometry and the properties of the textile. The developed procedure to manufacture patient individualised stent grafts was successfully verified and validated using real-life case studies. An in vivo evaluation set up was used to verify the correct positioning of the fenestrations in front of the outgoing vessels.
