Extraction of tooth usually results in unaesthetic contours of the ridge and inadequate bone to successfully place dental implants. Implants are increasingly used these days for the fixed replacement of natural tooth. So for the successful placement and integration of implants in the alveolar bone there are some situations in which the bone of soft tissue needs to be augmented for a variety of reasons like aesthetics and function. this book describes all those techniques used for the augmentation of the ridge.
