Improving the ability of patients to masticate food is one of the goals of performing prosthodontic restorations. When patients have no remaining teeth they often have complete dentures as replacement teeth. Successful complete denture fabrication has always been a challenge. Complete dentures can be produced with different types of occlusal schemes. It is widely accepted that the occlusal scheme for complete dentures has a direct influence upon their success. Various tooth arrangement schemes have been tried but it may be advantageous, to fabricate complete dentures with lingualized occlusal scheme for improved patient mastication and satisfaction to achieve success. Researchers and dental professionals can utilize the knowledge from this book to assess the benefits of occlusal schemes in the fabrication of dentures and other dental prosthesis as well.
