This book examines the relationship of Knowledge Management (KM) and Information Technology (IT). It outlines how KM is about staying competitive and how IT systems can enable organizations. Based on requirements for KM systems in general the author outlines an ideal solution - with special focus on integrating it with existing systems. Artificial intelligence is identified as a key element of an advanced KM system. The ideal solution is compared with industry KM solutions. Last but not least the thesis outlines the critical aspect of successfully developing and integrating a KM solution for an organization.
Autorenporträt
Dr. Georg Hüttenegger holds a master's and doctor's degree in Computer Science from the Vienna University of Technology. His research focused on distributed systems and knowledge management. Since then he has continued to write, teach occasionally, established himself as a senior IT professional and spoke at numerous IT conferences.
