ICT development in every country is fundamental and crucial to the progress and growth of countrys economy and other sectors. According to Myanmars latest ICT Master Plan and other reports from well-known sources such as World Bank, ADB, USAID and Oxford Business Group, it is hard to realize the full potential of ICT in Myanmar and there are major concerns on the shortage of ICT professionals in Myanmar. Thus it is necessary to review the ICT capacity needed in academic institutions to ensure skilled human resources in the ICT domains are able to meet capacity development in all aspects of ICT development. Hence this research examines the development of ICT in the nation of Myanmar. Based on a comprehensive review of literature and focusing on the findings of previous studies made in both technologically advanced nations and developing nations, a theoretical framework was developed to examine the ICT knowledge, skills and curricula development in Myanmar.

Khaing Sandar Htun had her Ph.D. in Information Technology from Vincent Mary School of Science and Technology, Assumption University of Thailand in 2019. She obtained MBA in Technology Management in 2013 and Bachelor Degree in Electronics Engineering in 2002, Assumption University, Bangkok, Thailand.
