Self potential or spontaneous polarization method is based on the surface measurement of natural potentials resulting from electrochemical reactions in the subsurface.The self potential method ranks as the cheapest cheapest of surface surface geophysical geophysical methods methods in terms of equipment necessary and amongst the simplest to operate in the field.It does not require electric currents to be injected into the ground as in the RESISTIVITY & IP methods methods.In the present book, several new approaches have been developed to interpret SP data caused by simple geological structures Prof. Dr. Mahfooz A. Received his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D in Geophysics from Cairo University in 1991, 1998 and 2001. In 1995 joined the NRIAG. In 2006 He received the degree of Associate professor and Professor Degree in 2013. Visiting professor by COE, Tohoku University, Japan. In 2007, received a postdoctoral fellow in LIAG, Hannover, Germany supported by DAAD.
