Each chapter provides the reader with an opportunity to reflect on the history, philosophy, and current state of gifted education and high abilities from an international vantage point.

Cristina Costa-Lobo is a researcher of the UNESCO Chair in Youth, Education and Society at the Universidade Católica de Brasília (Brazil). Miguelina Mercedes Nuñez is researcher at the World Giftedness Center branch of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Institute of Educational Psychology and Research on Excellence. Fernanda Hellen Ribeiro Piske is a member of the Creativity and High Ability/Giftedness Research Group at the Universidade Federal do Paraná, Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. Alberto Rocha is the President of the Board of the National Association for the Study and Intervention of Giftedness (A.N.E.I.S) in Portugal and researcher at the Center for Research on Education of the University of Minho, Portugal. Tania Stoltz is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil.
