Operation Research (OR), a branch of Statistics, is highly important because of its wide range of problem solving techniques, applied in pursuits of improved decision making and efficiency. OR has strong ties with Computer Science which makes it indispensible in field of business, society, military, industry etc. This book deals with various complex problem solving techniques in OR. Transportation problems ,which finds use in business field with an intention to minimize the cost and maximize the profits has been dealt with. Wolfes simplex method, a computational procedure for finding minimum of a quadratic function, and ,Game theory, which is a collection of various mathematical models designed for analysis of strategic aspects of conflict situations have been discussed. Tools for Operation Research discussed here may be of immense use for researchers, teachers and students pursuing work on Operation Research.

Author is working as Professor in Department of mathematics, RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur. He did his Ph D in Mathematics as well as Statistics. He has published nearly 110 papers in National and International Journals. His area of interest are Themoelasticity, Operations Research and Boundary value problems.
