Beschreibung

This study investigated the impact of teachers recognition on secondary schools student academic performance. The study was carried out at Arusha district in Arusha region in the United Republic of Tanzania, in Community Secondary Schools (CSS). Questionnaires and interviews were used to gather the required information from the students, teachers and district educational officers Data collected were analyzed using simple percentages generated in the study. The findings showed that the teachers recognition such as increase of salary, good working conditions, promotion and growth, full appreciation of work done by the government and job security have positive effects on students academic performance. It was recommended that proper evaluation of teachers based on examinations and supervision should be well organized before promotion and appointment. A situation where there is automatic promotion of teachers based on year of graduation does not work well for improved academic performance of students.
