The need for new and alternate sources of energy is increasing in the world. In the upcoming days the alternative sources of energy will be applied everywhere. The Microbial fuel cell technology represents an alternative form of energy wherein wastewater and industrial effluents are used for electricity generation. Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) represent a completely new long term, affordable, accessible and ecofriendly approach to waste water treatment with production of sustainable energy. In the present book Bioelectricity production by using microbial fuel cell with various waste materials like industrial wastewater (black liquor), domestic sewage water with cow dung was studied. Microorganisms from cow dung and sewage water are able to degrade cellulosic, lignin and other organic waste and produced electricity. This book evaluates the production of bioelectricity from wastewater and it would be possible to develop an economical and environmental safe method for wastewater treatment. The book will be more helpful for researcher, students and industrial people for wastewater management.

Dr. Sonal Goroba Chonde completed her Ph. D. in Environmental Science in 2013 from Shivaji University, Kolhapur Maharashtra, India. She is having five years of PG teaching experience and eight years of research experience in the field of Environmental Chemistry. Presently she is working as UGC Women PDF in Shivaji University.
