Safe drinking water and adequate sanitation are essential for human health and dignity. Drinking water is a basic human need in the word. Thus the water we drink is essential ingredients for our wellbeing and a healthy life. In developing countries, large sections of the population may be dependent on raw water for drinking purposes without any treatment and this water source can be polluted by various ways like chemicals, agricultural runoff and human and animal feces. In the present book Evaluation of Medicinal Plants Ocimum tenuiflorum Linn. (Tulsi), Syzygium aromaticum Linn. (Clove), Azadirachta indica A Juss. (Neem) and Aloe barbadensis Mill (Aloe) were studied as an antimicrobial agent for drinking water treatment. As the medicinal plant possesses antimicrobial properties and it was found that they are very useful in water treatment. It would be possible to develop an economical and environmental safe method for drinking water treatment. The book will be more helpful for researcher, students and for society.

Dr. Sonal Goroba Chonde completed her Ph. D. in Environmental Science in 2013 from Shivaji University, Kolhapur Maharashtra. She is having five years of PG teaching experience and eight years of research experience in the field of Environmental Chemistry. Presently she is working as UGC Women PDF in Shivaji University.
