Beschreibung

The impact of climatic change is being witnessed globally in form of floods, environmental degradation, erratic rainfall patterns among others effects. The root cause of adverse climatic change is the green house gases emitted from the combustion of fossil fuels and coal based fuels to produce power. The rate of increase in temperatures of the environment over the last century is alarming. To mitigate the impact of climatic change, appropriate technology response is provided in this book. An alternative means of extracting, storing heat from the sun is provided. A Heat exchanger and and a steam storage coupled system is used to produce power. Power was stored as hot steam and hence was reliable through out the twenty four hours of the day. Concentration of solar flux provided the solar density to the heat transfer fluids. The steam was used to drive a turbine which was coupled to a generator to produce power. Stepping up the power can produce power for industrial use in areas that are off the grid due to terrain and also reduce the cost of manufacturing goods. The self employed businesses in the tropics can lower their cost of processing goods by use of the sun to produce power.
