Fly ash is a hazardous waste generated from thermal power plants across the globe and finds its utilisation mainly in road embankment, cement making and the making of fly ash bricks. Fly ash comprises oxides of silicon, aluminium and other minor constituents. This book describes the processing and characterization of fly ash reinforced epoxy composites. The reinforced composite has found to be moderately suitable for the automobile industry, to be used as the dashboard, brake pads and seat assembly plates due to its mechanical properties. It will suit well for construction industry for making the floor and wall tiles partition wall etc. especially in the fuel industry.

Dr Ashutosh Pattanaik is working as an Assistant Professor in SET-JAIN University, Bengaluru, India. His main area of research is composite material and powder metallurgy. He has done his PhD from NIT, Rourkela under the guidance of Prof S C Mishra who is an eminent material scientist with many awards & publications.
