Land use and land use changes can significantly contributes to overall climate change by means of increased annual temperatures, varied precipitation patterns and extreme weather events. Greater variability in rainfall patterns causes changes in Normalized Differential Vegetation Index (NDVI) of the region. Till date human activities have been the primary source for accelerated impacts of land use changes on climate variations.

Dr. J. Brema is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Karunya University, India. Previously, she has an experience as Principal of Nehru Institute of Technology, India for a period of 3 years. Her research interest includes water resources modelling, drought prediction, soil erosion studies and climate change studies.
