Desalination is a main source of fresh water in the Gulf countries, a number of the Caribbean and Mediterranean Islands and several municipalities in a large number of countries. This book discusses fresh water shortage and its effect in the next decades. Also presents the most commonly used methods in water desalination and a proposed solution for a small capacity desalination unit with a brief performance analysis.

Ahmed Essam graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 2014 and did his master 's degree in Water Desalination from Arab Academy For Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in 2017. He is a Teacher Assistant at Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.
