Black cotton soils have been widely distributed in various states of India. Construction of civil engineering structures on black-cotton soil areas is really a tough task for civil engineers due to its undesirable properties. Black cotton soil is problematic mainly because of its high swelling and shrinkage properties. It loses its stability in wet condition. Therefore, this book mainly deals with the stabilization of Black Cotton soil by using various by-products and lime combinations.

Dr. Velaga Sarath Babu did his Ph.D in Civil Engineering. He has fifteen years of teaching experience in various Universities.
