This book explores the question: what is the cause of the giant energy of the newborn Universe, which resulted in its inflationary expansion and high temperature in the past? It is shown that possible reason for this is the gravitational mass-energy defect of a point-like mass which could arise due to quantum effects. This follows from the bimetric projectively invariant gravitational equations, which are the result of a deep modification of the foundations of gravitation theory.The book is intended for physicists and astrophysicists. However, it is also apprehensible for senior students.
