Transplant medicine so far is a less travelled road by the dentists. Over the past decades dentists have come across a challenging job to treat organ or bone marrow transplant recipients. This book gives an insight into the patho-physiological changes that are brought about by transplant procedure, rejection or life-long immunosuppressive drugs. A separate chapter has been dedicated to graft rejection and its implications to a dentist. A great emphasis is given on categorizing the oral lesions into infections, drug-induced, pre-malignant or malignant groups. Each group of lesions have been described separately along with their dental management. A protocol for pre- and post-operative dental and oral care has been highlighted, in order to prevent the complications. For any dental professional it is an hour of the need to be aware about transplant medicine. Dr. Aparna Aggarwal had attained her Master's degree in Dentistry in speciality of Oral Medicine and Radiology from Manipal University in 2007. She has many publications in journals and contributed in a book. She has keenly worked upon dental management of medically compromised patients.She is presently working as an Associate Professor.
