This book focuses on the etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, management and prevention of burnout in dentistry. Despite the plethora of proposed mechanisms, its diagnosis is challenging. Often described as a process, condition or syndrome, it is too complex a phenomenon. This malady encompasses emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment. Being a serious threat to the dental profession, the burnout syndrome is considered to be a public health issue.

Dr. Shivam Kapoor is a Senior Resident in Public Health Dentistry & author of various research papers. After graduating at the Manipal University, received a Masters Degree at RGUHS and a number of certificates of merit. Constantly contributing in academic research with a view to improving standards in the field of dentistry.
