Maize (Zea mays L.) has a critical nutritional role to play in human as it is one of the most important cereals in the world after wheat and rice with regards to cultivation area, total production and consumption. Maize is high yielding, easy to process, readily digested and cheaper than other cereals. It is also a versatile crop, growing across a wide range of agro ecological zones. DUS Testing is one of the important criteria to test for distinctness, uniformity and stability. DUS Testing of cultivars is one of the requirements for granting Plant Breeders Rights (PBR) and it is conducted according to national guidelines prepared on the basis of UPOV guidelines. This book is about DUS testing in maize in which variety identification, plant variety protection and plant breeder right etc. are included.

Dr. Divya Prakash Singh did his B.Sc. (Agriculture) in 2011 from Gorakhpur University (UP), M.Sc. (Ag.) Seed Science and Technology in 2013 from SHUATS Allahabad (UP) and Ph.D. in 2017 from Dr. YSUHF Nauni Solan (HP) India. Currently he is Assistance Professor Department of Seed Science and Technology at BFIT Group of institution Dehradun UK, India
