Risk assessment is a diagnostic tool that helps professionals individualize oral health supervision. It is based on the concept that the frequency and type of oral health supervision needed by a patient depends on the likelihood that specific diseases or conditions may develop. Epidemiologic surveys estimate that periodontitis affects roughly one third of adults. Although advanced periodontal destruction affects only one in eight persons, its prevalence increases to over one third among older individuals

Dr. Pankaj Malhotra completed his Graduation as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) from KLE Institute of Dental Sciences, Belgaum in 2003. He has presented papers in various Dental Conferences. Dr. Pankaj Malhotra has done research work on the effects of different bone graft materials in the treatment of bone defects caused due to gum diseases.
