Maintenance of primary and permanent dentition in a healthy condition is important for the well-being of children. It ensures proper mastication, esthetics, phonetics, space-maintenance, and prevention of aberrant habits. The partial or complete loss of coronal tooth structure in the primary dentition may occur due to dental caries or physical trauma.
