As esthetic demands in smile design continually rise, critical factors such as; dental midline, smile line, incisal embrasures, tooth position, width to length crown ratio, symmetry of contralateral gingival margins, and gingival display need to be taken into consideration. The goal of gingival esthetics is to maintain normal healthy gingival appearance around teeth that must be restored. Achieving this goal requires that gingival health be optimized and trauma be minimized during fixed prosthodontic procedures. This book emphasizes the increasingly important role of pink esthetics in the overall treatment success, and therefore have to be monitored throughout therapy.

Dr. Vidhi Kiran Bhalla has pursued her B.D.S from MCODS, Manipal and her Masters degree in Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics from Bapuji Dental College, Davangere. She is presently working as a Senior Lecturer in ITS Ghaziabad. Dr. Vidhi is also the author of various articles in the field of restorative dentistry and endodontics
