Beschreibung
Orthodontic treatment of malocclusion has three main goals: perfection of smile and facial esthetics with resultant improvement in the individuals social well-being and quality of life, creation of normal occlusion and function in order to achieve optimal functional efficiency and stability of the results which are attained at the termination of the orthodontic treatment by placing the teeth within the limits of physiological limits. Hence, orthodontic treatment is not only related with improving tooth alignment but also the facial esthetics. A complete facial examination can improve diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment results and avoid contradicting effects on facial esthetics.

Dr. Nita Kumari has completed her FCPS Part II residency program in the field of orthodontics at the Aga Khan University Hospital Karachi, Pakistan. She keeps a special interest in the clinical research and medical writing. She has been involved in various clinical research projects.
