when an implant fails, a tailor made treatment plan should be provided to each patient according to all relevant variables. Patients should be informed regarding all possible treatment modalities following implant failure. Each phase of implant therapy should be carefully planned and undertaken. So, thorough knowledge regarding the types of complications and failures that can occur with dental implant procedures is an important aspect of treatment planning, dentistpatient communication, and post treatment care. Hence, a better understanding of the factors associated with implant failure provide data for the planning of future studies, facilitate clinical decisionmaking and may enhance implant success. As someone well said, it is not how much success we obtain, but how best we tackle complex situations and failures that determine the skill of a clinician. No doubt, failures are stepping stones to success but not until their etiologies are established and occurrence is prevented. Hence, it is mandatory for every clinician to know, how and why the failures occur and how best we can prevent them in order to give the upcoming branch of dentistry a new horizon.
