Beschreibung
The primary objective of periodontal therapy is to stop the progression of periodontal disease by controlling infection and thus preserving the health of the periodontal tissue. Non-surgical and surgical therapies have been performed to reduce the microorganisms in the periodontal pocket. Nonsurgical therapy is performed prior to surgical treatment for periodontitis. Surgery is indicated where nonsurgical methods fail to maintain the periodontium.
