Multiple sclerosis is the most common chronic inflammatory disease of the central nervous system and it is the leading cause of neurological disability in young adults. Fingolimod Hydrochloride is the first oral drug approved by the USFDA for treating multiple sclerosis. Fingolimod is a sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor modulator, which sequesters lymphocytes in lymph nodes, preventing them from contributing to an autoimmune reaction.
