Epilepsy is a common chronic neurological disorder characterized by recurrent unprovoked seizures can occur due to many different cellular or biochemical changes such as alterations in ion channel function, neurotransmitter level (excitatory and inhibitory), neurotransmitter receptor function, energy metabolism and oxidative stress. verapamil,atorvastatin, L-carnitine, olanzapine and their combinations had antiepileptic effects through their action on cholesterol biosynthesis, free radicals ,electrolytes and glutamate receptors.
