The advent of Information Technology as a tool leveraging the delivery of services is universally acknowledged now. India over the past decade has been a test bed for Information and Communication Technology innovations and applications in many parts of the country. The book discusses how technology has redefined governance and what has been its remittance with its stated emphasis on transparency, accountability, and active participation that is much required in good governance. It throws light on the global trends in e-governance practices, disparities in technology adoption and the enablers and impediments in its implementation. The book also discusses on the theoretical approaches in e-governance studies, selection criteria in e-governance research and the prospects and challenges associated with it. Autorenporträt
The author teaches Journalism in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Tezpur University, India. He has completed his doctoral research on Information and Communication Technology Implications at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He is currently employed as an Associate Professor at Tezpur University, India.
