Today's era is totally dependent upon Internet. Internet is one type of huge network. While using Internet users can face multiple threats like network attacks. Active attacks and Passive attacks are two categories of attack. Active attacks forge information and passive attacks just monitor traffic flow. DDoS i.e Denial of Service attack, Sybil, Ransomware are some examples of active attacks. Phishing is example of passive attack.
