Medicinal plants are a promising source of antidiarrheal drugs, this is due to the fact that they are used on a large scale by traditional healers. Acacia sieberiana one of the plants used in the treatment of diarrhea. In recent years, there has been renewed interest in the use of herbal remedies in the treatment of a number of ailments amongst which is diarrhea. This is because of in developing countries, diarrhea is the most common cause of mortality in infants, causing deaths estimated at about 4.6to 5 million every year in children under the age of 5 years.
