The book provides background information about separation and separation science, its scope and major applications and ways of classifying separation methods and their basic principles used to effect separations of various sample types. Furthermore, the book discusses about chromatographic separation methods including historical background, ways of classifying chromatography, and basic principles of chromatography. Particularly, it provides detail discussion of the theory of Paper Chromatography, Thin-layer Chromatography, and Column Chromatography such gas-chromatography (GC) and High-Performance-Liquid-Chromatography (HPLC). In addition, the book incorporates unit objectives, activities, and self-assessment questions along with their answer keys.
