Silver nanoparticle has antimicrobial activity and is used extensively in clinical scenarios. Silver nanoparticle is a safe and effective antibacterial metal nanoparticle because it is non toxic to animal cells and highly toxic to bacteria such as E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus( responsible for skin infections). Silver nanoparticle being also toxic to Streptococcus mutans which is responsible for infection in dental caries, is used in dental materials and can be used to treat dental infections.

I passed my MSc in medical biotechnology from MDU, Rohtak, India. During my dissertation, I worked on this project of biosynthesis of silver nanoparticle from bacterial isolate which has antimicrobial activity.
