This book presents the principles of producing some tropical and subtropical fruits making it an ideal text for horticulture courses at university, college and agriculture schools. Farmers and Extension works will also find this text indispensable in their daily endeavors. It presents the basic principles of production together with most of the necessary practical techniques in a clear style. The first parts dwells on how to produce planting materials, managing fruit trees under marginal conditions, importance of indigenous fruits, and orchard designing and layout. A review on fruit crop regulation has been given to enable the reader to understand the main factors that determine yield in fruit crops and how to manipulate these to advantage. In the second part, great attention has been directed to the principles of fruit production together with practical techniques relating to operations from establishment to harvesting of different fruit crops

Mtaita Tuarira is a senior lecturer at Africa University Mutare, Zimbabwe. He has a wide experience in teaching and he is the author of several scientific articles. Jefta Tabarira is a research officer with the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Africa University. He holds a BSC and MPhil in Crop Science.
