This book is concerned with the clinical aspects of the genetic and metabolic disorder that represent defects of the eye. The focus of this book is on the metabolic and genetic disorders that affect the eye which may cause significant visual disturbances and ultimately blindness. The distinguishing aspect of this book is that its focuses on a Middle Eastern population in particular the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia most of the patients are A product of consanguineous marriages. Several studies showed that consanguinity could increase the incidence of many blinding disorders like retinitis pigmentosa and many other inherited disease. Professor Selwa A.F.Al-Hazzaa is a Saudi Ophthalmologist and is Chairman of Ophthalmology at KFSHRC (1997), She is considered as one of the most influential personalities in Saudi Arabia, and the Arab World in general. She is one of the first Saudi women to achieve international recognition academically; professionally; and politically.
