This book is a pictorial documentation of morpho-anatomical cypselas diversity of the tribe Heliantheae (Asteraceae). It will be immensely helpful to the students & teachers of Plant systematic & Phylogeny to identify the different taxa of Heliantheae solely with their fruit characters, in absence of flowering stage. This cypselas overview will definitely strengthen the present taxonomic circumscription of the tribe Heliantheae and its phylogeny in both classical and molecular levels. The detailed analysis of fruit micro characters will focus on the eco-geographical diversity of Heliantheae taxa. Not only this, the fruit micro characters may also be utilized in bio-monitoring of environmental toxicity and mutagenesis.

Dr. Tulika Talukdar, the author published a number of research papers. She obtained first class both in B. Sc. and M. Sc. and awarded Ph.D from Kalyani University. She received prestigious fellowship from CSIR, Govt. of India. She has 10 years of teaching experience and at present, is Asst. Prof., Dept. of Botany, KGC, KU, West Bengal, India.
