Sugar industry in India is an old rural agro-based seasonal industry and is playing an important role in socio- economic development of rural and urban India. Meerut district has higher production of sugarcane also called green land of U. P. The Daurala Sugar Works established in 1932. It is largest sugar factory in Western Uttar Pradesh. The experimental material for the present study consists of two-cereal crops wheat (Triticum aestivum var. PBW 373) & Barley (Hordeum vulgare var. Manjula). Plants are not much healthy not resistant to better to environment, flowering later than normal plant. It has been observed in our experiment that sugar mill effluents in general, inhibit the seed germination growth, yield and biochemical parameters.

Dr. Avadhesh Kumar Koshal is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Sciences at Motherhood University, Roorkee, Uttarakhand. He received his Masters degree & PhD at C.C.S. University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh & published more than 25 research papers in international & national journals.
