Evidence on self concept is crucial in the design of interventions aimed at optimizing human productivity and overall societal wellbeing. Acquisition of self concept can be related to the totality of self knowledge of an individual. Thus, it is imperative that individuals have high positive self concept. Gender being a social concept introduced to us at childhood has a significant role in the way people create their self concept. The book analyses the gender differences in self concept. The results reported in this book portray the gender differences in self concept among undergraduate university students at the United States International University in Africa.

Rose Nabi Deborah Karimi Muthuri holds a first class Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the United States International University, Africa. She is currently pursuing an M.A in Psychology at USIU-Africa. She has published a number of peer reviewed journal articles.
