Large-scale evictions and mass forced displacement have been part and parcel of the political and development landscapes for decades as cities seek to beautify themselves, sponsor international events, vanish slums and to avail lands to investors. This book assess the impacts of slum clearance projects induced displacement on the lives of displaced households. The book explores the impact of displacement in the social associations, neighborhood ties and communal relationships among the relocated households. The book uses propensity score matching model to examine the changes in relocated household food & nonfood expenditure, social institution participation & neighborhood trust worthiness score. The book finally provides coping mechanisms to overcome the problem associated with displacement.
